A free health clinic set for Allentown this fall needs volunteers. Medical providers and those willing to setup and break down are in need to help those who need services.

ALLENTOWN, Pa. — Calling all health care providers — a free health clinic set for this fall needs help.

The Allentown event is open to anyone needing medical, dental or vision services.

But it still needs volunteers.

Remote Area Medical, also known as RAM, is a nonprofit that holds free clinics across the country, including the two-day event planned for the Lehigh Valley in October.

Now, it's looking for medical, dental and vision professionals and general support staff to volunteer their time Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 19-20.

Volunteers also are needed to help set up and break down the clinic.

For the second year, the event will be at Executive Education Academy Charter School.

Service will include dental cleanings, dental fillings, dental extractions, dental X-rays, eye exams, eye health screenings, eyeglass prescriptions, eyeglasses made on-site, women's health exams and general medical exams.

They will be provided on a first-come basis.

Health care providers willing to donate time and those interested in helping out can sign up on the RAM website at www.ramusa.org or call 865-579-1530.
