BETHLEHEM, Pa. — Fashionistas: it’s time to strut your stuff.

The Banana Factory at ArtsQuest announced Tuesday it will hold its inaugural People’s Ball, featuring original designs by fashion designer Barbara Kavchok and a runway show where the audience becomes the models.

“An Uncommon Thread: Fashion is Fine Art,” will take place in the Crayola Gallery at the Banana Factory, 25 W. Third St.

  • Banana Factory at ArtsQuest will hold a People’s Ball on May 6
  • Attendees are encouraged to wear their finest threads and participate in the fashion competition and runway show
  • Bethlehem-based designer Barbara Kavchok will present her designs at the event

Kavchok is a Bethlehem-based designer known for her couture dresses and unique, elaborate bridal gowns.

Wear your finest

Dress to impress: Attendees to the event can participate in the best in show style competition, which will be judged by local style icons.

“Inspired by our spring fashion exhibition from local designer Barbara Kavchok is a treat for all, combining art, style and coming will make for a truly fun and festive event.”

There also will be live entertainment and plenty of time for dancing.

“We’re thrilled to be able to host this first of-its-kind event,” Lisa Harms, senior director of visual arts and education at ArtsQuest, said in a release.

Cathy’s Catering will provide appetizers, along with beer, wine, soda and other beverages.

Tickets, are $35 for ArtsQuest members and $40 for the public  and are available at www.bananafactory.org.
