Hellertown extends 2-hour parking on busy Main Street

Those parking on Main Street in Hellertown will now be able to grab their spots at 8 a.m. instead of 9 a.m.

HELLERTOWN, Pa. — Those looking to park on Main Street in Hellertown now have more time to snag their two-hour spots.

Two-hour parking on Main Street will now be available from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

That timeframe previously began at 9 a.m.

Hellertown Borough Council on Monday unanimously approved the changes.

Here’s a brief look at the two-hour options:

  • Main Street — Saucon to Clarke Street, available on both sides every day from 8 a.m to 6 p.m.
  • Main Street — Two spaces in front of 1575 Main St., available on the east side Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Durham Street — Main to Laubach Street, available on the north side every day from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

As for the 15-minute options, those vary a bit more:

  • Pine Street — One space at intersection of Main and Pine, available on the north side Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Northampton Street — One space in front of 650 Northampton St., available on the west side at all times every day
  • Main Street — One space in front of 326 Main St., available on the west side at all times every day
  • Main Street — One space in front of 654 Main St., available on the west side side every day from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Main Street — One space in front of 605 Main St., available on the east side every day from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Main Street — One space in front of 1418 Main St., available on the west side at all times every day
  • Saucon Street — Two spaces in front of Saucon Valley Community Center, available on the south side at all times every day
  • Front Street — West curb line to the front of 950 Front St., available at all times every day

The parking ordinance reads that it’s “in the Public’s health, safety and welfare” to establish the regulations.
