Pedestrian seriously hurt in Easton Ave. crash in Bethlehem

It happened a little before 7 p.m. Wednesday at Easton Avenue and Beech Street in Bethlehem.

BETHLEHEM, Pa. — A crash involving a vehicle and a pedestrian occurred Wednesday night at Easton Avenue and Beech Street in Bethlehem.

Police Capt. Nicholas P. Lechman released the following statement:

“At 6:52 p.m., the Bethlehem Police Department was dispatched to a motor vehicle accident with injuries at the intersection of Easton Ave. and Beech St. Arriving officers located a pedestrian in the roadway that had been struck by a vehicle at this location.

"The adult male pedestrian was transported to an area hospital with serious injuries, and is expected to survive."

Lechman said the driver of the vehicle stopped and is cooperating with the investigation. He said the driver was not hurt.

The road has been reopened, and the accident remains under investigation, according to Lechman.
