South Bethlehem shooting leaves 1 hospitalized with ‘serious injuries’

Several calls came through to authorities at 3:15 p.m., with one caller reporting a female victim had been hit by at least one gunshot, police said. An investigation is ongoing.

BETHLEHEM, Pa. — Bethlehem police are investigating a Southside shooting that sent one victim to the hospital Wednesday afternoon.

The shooting occurred in the 400 block of Cherokee Street.

“Arriving officers were informed that the victim, a female in her 20s, had been transported to an area hospital in a personal vehicle,” a police statement reads.

“The victim remains hospitalized with serious injuries resulting from a gunshot wound to the body.”

There have been no arrests at this time, and police said an investigation continues.
