Overcoming obstacles

Gardot, known for her singles, "Your Heart is as Black as Night" and "Quiet Fire" has a remarkable story.

Early in her career, the 38-year-old singer overcame a life-threating bicycle accident that left her hospitalized for months with multiple head injuries and pelvic fractures.

Despite her health struggles, the Philadelphia-native recorded her debut album, "Worrisome Heart" in 2007, which drew comparisons to Laura Nyro, Joni Mitchell, Nina Simone and Eva Cassidy.

In 2010, Gardot won a Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Jazz Album for "My One and Only Thrill."

Expect to hear tunes from her latest LP, "Entre Eux Duex," released in 2022.

Gardot recorded the album with Philippe Powell (composer, pianist and son of Baden Powell) in her Paris studio.

It features bluesy songs such as "This Foolish Heart Could Love You" and "A La Tour Eiffel."

Tickets start at $45.
