BETHLEHEM, Pa. — Let the holiday cheer commence, starting with some free parking to enjoy all that the Christmas City offers.

The city and the Bethlehem Parking Authority announced Tuesday that for the sixth year, Lehigh Valley Health Network is sponsoring two hours of free parking for shoppers and visitors on four Saturdays during the holidays.

The free two-hour parking zone covers 283 meters around Historic Bethlehem’s Main Street, and digital reminders are displayed on Bethlehem Parking Authority parking pay stations and the mobile app.

Those Saturdays are Nov. 30, Dec. 7, Dec. 14 and Dec 21.

“At Lehigh Valley Health Network, our commitment to the community goes beyond health care,” said James Miller, president of Lehigh Valley Hospital Muhlenberg and Northampton region.

“By offering free parking, we hope to enhance the experience for visitors in downtown Bethlehem, making it easier for everyone to enjoy our vibrant local culture. We care about our neighbors and are proud to support the community we serve.”

Partnering for parking perks

Downtown Bethlehem Association Manager Ty Versocki expressed gratitude along with Erin Zebertavage, downtown manager of the SouthSide Arts District.

“We’re thrilled to once again partner with Lehigh Valley Health Network to bring free parking to our downtown shoppers. This generous sponsorship makes it even easier for everyone to enjoy the magic of Christmas City,” Versocki said

BPA asks anyone staying longer than two hours to move their car after the two-hour limit, as time restrictions will be enforced to ensure everyone has a fair chance to shop, dine, and experience the Christmas City during the festive season, according to a news release.

"Free two-hour parking makes it easier for everyone to come out and explore the shops, art galleries, restaurants and holiday events that bring our downtown to life."

For longer visits, shoppers are encouraged to use one of the Bethlehem Parking Authority’s parking garages and lots.

“Free two-hour parking makes it easier for everyone to come out and explore the shops, art galleries, restaurants and holiday events that bring our downtown to life. We look forward to seeing families and friends make memories in both the Historic District and here in the SouthSide Arts District this season," said Zebertavage.

"Bethlehem shines especially bright during the holiday season, and we're thrilled to join Lehigh Valley Health Network and the City of Bethlehem in welcoming visitors to enjoy the festive magic of the Christmas City.”
