ALLENTOWN, Pa. - Dr. Eric Lebby from Lehigh Valley Health Network said people are sitting in meetings during the day and not being as active as they once were.

He says this could lead to arthritis.

To avoid that, Dr. Lebby suggests doing simple household chores between online meetings, going for a quick 10 minute walk, even walking in place for about 30 seconds.

“Sedentary lifestyle now is kind of the new smoking. So, there’s been plenty of research that shows that people who are very sedentary actually have significant increased risks of cardiovascular disease and it’s comparable to people who smoke,” said Dr. Lebby.

Dr. Lebby says it’s also important to get enough sleep and maintain a healthy diet. Because heart disease is still the number one killer in the world.
