BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The candidates for Lehigh County’s top elected office will debate next month in a forum broadcast live on PBS39.
Democrat Josh Siegel and Republican Roger MacLean will go head-to-head Wednesday, Oct. 15, at the Univest Public Media Center on the SteelStacks campus in Bethlehem.
Tickets are free to be in the studio audience but advance registration is required here.
Siegel and MacLean are seeking election to a four-year term as Lehigh County executive – the leader of county government and its more than 2,000 employees.
The debate will be broadcast live on PBS39 and streamed on social media and LehighValleyNews.com. It will also air live on 91.3 WLVR radio.
The hourlong debate at PBS39 will be co-moderated by LehighValleyNews.com politics reporter Tom Shortell and 91.3 WLVR's Megan Frank, host of NPR’s “All Things Considered.”
PBS39, LehighValleyNews.com and 91.3 WLVR are all part of Lehigh Valley Public Media.
This is shaping up to be the third debate between Siegel, a state representative, and MacLean, a former Allentown police chief and city councilman.
They debated this month on WFMZ’s “Business Matters” program hosted by Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Tony Iannelli.
They are scheduled to debate again at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 8, at Lehigh Carbon Community College. That forum is being organized by former Lehigh County commissioner and South Whitehall Township commissioner Brad Osborne.
