Mayfair Festival of the Arts begins 3-day weekend run at Cedar Crest College

MayFair Festival of the Arts is Friday through Sunday and will feature performances by 17 musicians, as well as arts and crafts activities for kids.

ALLENTOWN, Pa. — You can listen to live music, dance on the campus' grass or chalk-draw on the sidewalks.

Family fun and live music returns to Cedar Crest College this Memorial Day weekend. The Mayfair Festival of the Arts runs Friday afternoon through Sunday.

The free festival, in its sixth year at Cedar Crest, features 17 performances from local musicians and an estimated 40 arts and crafts vendors.

For some creative fun, check out the art stations sponsored by Baum School of Art and Crayola, yard-spinning demos by Second Saturday Spinners, and origami-making by Lehigh Valley Origami Enthusiasts.

For eats, this year's food trucks pulling up include Paranormal Pop Ups, The Udder Bar, Franklin Hill Vineyards, Greek Street, E-Z Concession, Bananarama, Smoothie King, Puerto Rican Culture Preservation Inc., Heaven On A Bun, JR's London Broil and Take a Taco.

Shopping at the school

Among the items for sale by artisans: beauty products, handbags, paintings and photographs, pet accessories, baked goods, plants and handmade blown glass and jewelry.

Festival hours are 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. Friday; and noon to 10 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday. Parking is free.
