BETHLEHEM, Pa. - In the second episode of Census 2020: Why It Matters, we look at the challenges and importance of counting the Latinx/Hispanic and immigrant communities in the Lehigh Valley. WLVR’s Brad Klein speaks with Norman Bristol Colón, the executive director of the “Census 2020 Complete Count Commission.”
The commission was established by the executive order of Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf. Mr. Colón says that the debate over a ‘citizenship question’ has had a chilling effect on those groups even though the courts blocked its inclusion in the 2020 Census.
