EASTON, Pa. - Easton is celebrating Heritage Day on Saturday.
It commemorates the July 8, 1776, public reading of the Declaration of Independence — one of just three cities where the document was publicly read aloud after its approval in Philadelphia.

Besides the re-enactment of the first reading at noon in Centre Square, the day includes history tours, vendors, food and musical performances.

Usually held on a Sunday, the festival is behind held on Saturday this year. The city's annual fireworks display will be held at 9:15 p.m. on Sunday.
Heritage Day is organized by the Heritage Day Committee and Greater Easton Development Partnership.
