CATASAUQUA, Pa. —An 81-year-old woman died Thursday from natural causes prior to a fire at her Walnut Street home, the county coroner said.

Kathryn Kubinsky experienced a natural death prior to the fire, Lehigh County Coroner Dan Buglio said in a release Friday.

The blaze broke out Thursday morning at the residence in the 600 block of Walnut Street.

Kubinsky was found in the living room and was pronounced dead at the scene at 11:15 a.m., Buglio said.

"The loss of a loved one, especially one recovered from a house fire, is sudden and unexpected, particularly so close to the Christmas holiday season," Buglio said Thursday.

Besides the coroner’s office, Buglio said, investigating agencies include the Catasauqua Fire Department, Catasauqua Police Department, state police at Bethlehem and the state police fire marshal.
