ALLENTOWN, Pa. — A 27-year-old Allentown man who hit two state police troopers with his pickup truck just before fatally crashing was identified Monday by authorities.

Cristian F. Jimenez was serving probation after pleading guilty to resisting arrest in a previous incident, court records show.

Jimenez died early Sunday morning at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest from multiple blunt force traumas, according to Lehigh County Coroner Dan Buglio.

Troopers from the Fogelsville barracks stopped Jimenez’s Ford F-150 about 12:15 a.m. near 29th and Lehigh streets in Allentown, according to state police.

Jimenez drove away, hitting troopers with his truck “in an attempt to cause serious bodily injury and fled the scene,” police said in a release.

Troopers returned to their car and chased Jimenez, who lost control of his truck near 12th and Vultee streets, authorities said.

He hit a fire hydrant and utility pole before crashing into the Lehigh Valley Logistics building at 1801 S. 12th St. Jimenez was ejected from his truck; troopers offered Jimenez medical assistance before they were all taken to the hospital.

Buglio pronounced Jimenez dead at 12:45 a.m. Sunday, while both troopers were treated and released.

Jimenez was ordered in March to serve two years on probation after pleading guilty to a misdemeanor charge of resisting arrest, court records show.
