Bicyclist identified in deadly MacArthur Road crash

The 39-year-old victim was riding a bicycle Wednesday afternoon on MacArthur Road when he was involved in a collision with a vehicle, according to the Lehigh County Coroner's Office.

WHITEHALL TWP., Pa. — A bicyclist who was fatally injured in a collision with a vehicle on MacArthur Road on Wednesday has been identified.

Nickolas A. Siegfried, 39, of Nazareth, was pronounced dead at 2:02 p.m. at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest, said Lehigh County Coroner Daniel Buglio.

After an autopsy Friday, Buglio ruled Siegfried died of multiple blunt force trauma. He said the manner of death was accidental.

The crash happened about 1:15 p.m. Wednesday in the 2600 block of MacArthur Road, near Sutler Drive.

There was no word from authorities on the vehicle or operator of the vehicle involved in the crash.

Besides the coroner's office, investigating are Whitehall Township police, the Lehigh County District Attorney's Office and the Lehigh County Crash Team.
