Coroner IDs body found Tuesday near Allentown bridge

Emergency crews worked for more than an hour Tuesday morning near Fourth and Hamilton streets to recover the body of a 60-year-old Allentown man.

ALLENTOWN, Pa. — The body found Tuesday near Hamilton Street Bridge belonged to a 60-year-old Allentown man, according to the Lehigh County coroner.

Scott. L. Oswald was pronounced dead at 10:23 a.m. Tuesday after his body was found in an area along the Jordan Creek, which runs under the bridge, Coroner Daniel Buglio said in a news release.

Oswald died of a drug overdose, Buglio said. He ruled the death an accident.

Allentown firefighters, paramedics and police worked for more than an hour Tuesday morning near the intersection of Fourth and Hamilton streets to recover Oswald’s body.
