ALLENTOWN, Pa. — The Lehigh County coroner has ruled on the cause and manner of death for the two people hit by a vehicle early Sunday in the city.

Christopher E. Stocker, 44, and Luz Daneza Ruiz Acosta, 43, both of Allentown, died of blunt force injuries, according to Lehigh County Coroner Dan Buglio.

He ruled their manner of death as accidental in both cases.

Buglio released the findings Wednesday upon completion of autopsies.

The crash happened around 1:15 a.m. Sunday in the 300 block of West Hamilton Street.

Police said the vehicle operator was unhurt. They have not released the driver’s name or other details.

On Sunday, Assistant Police Chief Michael Becker said first responders were called to an accident involving pedestrians and found two victims who were taken by ambulance to the hospital.

Authorities said an investigation is continuing by Allentown police, the Lehigh County District Attorney's Office and the coroner's office.
