BETHLEHEM, Pa. – A line of thunderstorms overnight knocked out power to thousands in the Lehigh Valley.
By 9 a.m. Sunday, about 1,000 customers in Lehigh and Northampton counties remained without power.

- More stormy weather is in the forecast for Monday and Tuesday
PPL Electric Utilities reported outages continued to affect just under 500 utility customers in Northampton County and almost 300 in Lehigh County. Met-Ed reported almost 300 without power in Northampton County and a handful in Lehigh County.
Allentown, Hellertown and the Coopersburg area were among the trouble spots. PPL estimated power would be restored by 8 p.m. Sunday. Many more who had lost power had it restored overnight.
The storms came as a severe thunderstorm watch was in effect for the entire Lehigh Valley and other parts of Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York and Connecticut.
The National Weather Service forecast calls for a quiet day today, with mostly sunny skies and temperatures reaching the mid 80s. Lows tonight will hit about 65.
Monday’s forecast calls for mostly cloudy skies and a high of 83. There’s a slight chance of showers after 3 p.m., then showers and possibly a thunderstorm after 9 p.m. Rainfall amounts between three-fourths of an inch and 1 inch are possible.
Storms are also in the forecast Tuesday.
