HARRISBURG, Pa. - The organization is seeking a preliminary injunction that would address both vote-by-mail and in-person voting for the presidential election November 3rd.

The NAACP is seeking a court order that counties mandate masks at polling places, limit voter wait times to half an hour, limit voting site relocation to half a mile from the original address  and offer early voting for at least two weeks as well as mailed ballot dropoff options.

Counties using touchscreen voting machines also would have to offer hand-marked ballots for voters concerned about using a high-touch surface during the pandemic.

The NAACP wants all counties to send voters mail-in ballots in their preferred language, too.

At present, federal law requires only Philadelphia and Berks and Lehigh counties to translate election materials and provide interpretation at the polls in Spanish.
