HARRISBURG, Pa. - Right now the commonwealth is experiencing some of the highest daily case counts of the pandemic.
Health Secretary Dr. Rachel Levine says it will be safe for people to vote in person, but she’s advising people to have a plan to stay safe and to have a, quote, “COVID kit.”
“Your 'COVID kit' should include a mask, hand sanitizer, a blue or black pen, and we strongly recommend you download the COVID Alert PA mobile app to your phone,” said Levine.
Levine says residents should wear masks when they cast their votes and while waiting in line, but people will not be turned away if they aren’t wearing one.
Pennsylvania’s Emergency Management Agency has stepped in to help make sure polling sites are equipped with social distancing and sanitizing measures, and poll workers and poll watchers are required to wear masks.
