Red Cross opens shelter after fire at Whitehall apartment complex routs residents

The fire broke out Saturday night at the Fairmont Place Apartments on Maryland Circle in Whitehall Township. The emergency shelter is at Whitehall High School, 3800 Mechanicsville Road.

WHITEHALL TWP., Pa. - The Red Cross is operating an emergency shelter at Whitehall High School for residents displaced overnight by a fire at the Fairmont Place Apartments.

The fire broke out Saturday night at the complex on Maryland Circle.

The high school shelter at 3800 Mechanicsville Road will provide food, shelter, relief supplies, emotional support and other assistance, according to a news release from the agency’s Pennsylvania Rivers Chapter.

Red Cross shelters are open to everyone in need after a disaster, and all disaster assistance is free.

Anyone in need of Red Cross assistance can call 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767).
