HARRISBURG, Pa. Strike teams conducted nearly 7,000 tests in five counties last week, according to the Pennsylvania health department. Senior advisor Lyndsey Mauldin says those who were tested should be on the lookout for possible follow-up calls or texts.
“If you test positive for COVID-19 and are considered high risk you will receive a call from a case investigator. This case investigator will try to call you and leave a voicemail. And they might try again the next day if you are unable to make the call.”
Health officials are begging residents to work with contact tracers to help stop the spread of the virus which is currently maxing out hospitals across the state.
Northampton County continues to offer drive-through testing at Emrick Blvd in Bethlehem Township. However, patients now need to show symptoms to be tested. The site is open to anyone, but only county residents get free testing if they don't have health insurance.
