BETHLEHEM, Pa. — Trans-Bridge Lines is offering a new way for passengers to reserve seats starting Monday, April 3.

  • Trans-Bridge Lines will introduce a reservation system for its Doylestown/Flemington routes on April 3 before expanding the system to other routes
  • Passengers will have confirmed bus runs for their intended travel date and time
  • Along with the reservation system, the company will offer enhanced features for online ticketing

The bus company will implement a reservation system for its Doylestown/Flemington routes before incorporating its Wall Street, Newark Airport, and Allentown/Clinton routes.

As the new system is introduced to the Doylestown/Flemington routes on April 3, TBL Communications Manager Jennifer Lechiski said the company has not yet made the final decision on the exact date of the application for other routes.

"We anticipate one to two months for the introduction on each schedule," she said. "However, the timetable is not definitive."

With this new system, passengers will have confirmed bus runs for their intended travel date and time.

Lechiski clarified that going forward, although passengers are not confirmed for a particular seat on the bus, they will be confirmed for the bus, which means they will no longer need to worry about arriving extra early to get in line to ensure a seat.

The biggest difference, according to Lechiski, is that the new system guarantees a seat when customers decide to book.
"Currently, passengers purchase for the day and time they select; however, if that bus fills before they board, they will need to take the next available bus," she describes the current ticketing system. "Boarding is on a first come first served basis."

Jim JeBran, executive vice president and treasurer of Trans-Bridge Lines, said in a news release that the company is thrilled to take this next step toward providing a smooth passenger experience.

“We began offering online ticketing in June 2022, and this next transition to a reservation-based system is a natural progression in ensuring a seamless passenger experience," he said. "Reservations will give our riders the peace of mind that they are confirmed for the route they intend to utilize.”

In addition to confirmed seating, the company says it will also continue to collaborate with its technology provider to offer enhanced features for easy online ticketing. They're working to make Apple and Google Wallet quick access options for boarding passes.

"They (Passengers) have the ability to store their payment methods, favorite traveled runs for quick repurchasing and flexibility in changing or modifying travel."

JeBran also highlighted that passengers will have complete control over managing their accounts and reservations.

"They (passengers) have the ability to store their payment methods, favorite traveled runs for quick repurchasing and flexibility in changing or modifying travel," he said.

Besides the new reservation feature, Trans-Bridge Lines recently also announced a relocation from the now-closed Allentown Bus Terminal to the Allentown Transportation Center.
