This week may offer a good opportunity to spot a "falling star."
The annual Geminid meteor shower peaks on the evening of Dec. 14 and into the very early hours of Dec. 15.
Marty’s advice for increasing your odds of seeing a meteor overhead: bundle up (it’s going to be cold); look at the darkest portion of the night sky, in any direction; don’t look at your phone so that your eyes can adjust to the dark.
And just in case you do get lucky, have a wish ready.
