Free 'Dental Day' coming to Lehigh University

A Lehigh University student's nonprofit is looking to help the community access dental education and supplies for free through an upcoming event on the university's campus.

BETHLEHEM, Pa. — Free dental supplies and education are coming to Lehigh University next week.

Lehigh Dental Day is a free community event held from 1:30 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 23 at Lehigh University through nonprofit Dental Care Bridge.

Dave Chadha, a Lehigh University student and founder of Dental Care Bridge, said the event "is about more than oral health."

"It's about empowering our community with access to vital resources," Chadha said in an email.

"Through Dental Care Bridge, we have fully sponsored all event expenses, including dental supplies, catering, and educational materials, to ensure that every attendee receives the care and knowledge they deserve — completely free of charge."

The event, which also is being held by Lehigh Dental Society, will take place at the Alumni Memorial Arrival Court at 27 Memorial Drive West in Bethlehem, also will provide a free lunch.

A similar event by the Neighborhood Health Centers of the Lehigh Valley for ages 1-17 will take place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 22 at 160 Hamilton St.
