ALLENTOWN, Pa. — Anyone seeking a few million dollars to bankroll a community project may want to tune in to an online meeting with host U.S. Rep. Susan Wild this Friday.
Wild's office will hold a webinar at 2 p.m. Friday to inform people about the Community Project Funding program. The funding is typically approved for government or non-profit projects that don't involve building construction.

In the past two years, the program has provided $28 million for 25 projects in District 7, which includes Carbon, Lehigh and Northampton counties along with a sliver of Monroe County.
In a news release, Wild said she will be able to recommend 15 projects for funding. Last year, all 15 of her recommendations made it into the final $8.2 billion omnibus package.
However, Wild does not sit on the appropriations committee, and her recommendations are not guaranteed funding.
Applications and a guide for the program are available on Wild's website. The deadline to apply for funding is March 17.
It's unclear if the district will get as much love in Fiscal Year 2024. New House leadership has committed less funding to the Community Project Funding program this year, and groups such as museums and memorials are no longer eligible.
Recent recipients of funding include the Greater Valley YMCA, Lehigh Valley International Airport, the Bethlehem Food Co-Op and the Da Vinci Science Center.
