Township Council on Wednesday got an idea of what 39 garden apartments and parking lots could look like in the open space across from the municipal complex on Old Philadelphia Pike.
At a nine-hour council meeting on Wednesday, Lower Saucon Township officials voted 3-2 to offer the township manager job to Sheldon Hudson, of Millsboro, Delaware, at a salary of $155,000. The previously announced new manager declined the offer.
Newly appointed Hellertown Police Chief James Baitinger pledged to "work tirelessly and make a positive difference in the lives of people we serve and the lives of our police officers."
A renewable natural gas plant adjacent to the Bethlehem Landfill opened on Tuesday morning.
The crashes were unrelated and both occurred Thursday, according to the coroner's office. Killed were a 17-year-old from Hellertown and a 34-year-old from Forks Township.
