BETHLEHEM, Pa. — Police are seeking witnesses to a hit-and-run crash in the city that left a pedestrian with serious injuries.

Just before 10:30 p.m. Thursday, police say they received multiple 911 calls reporting that a pedestrian had been struck by a vehicle in the 2100 block of Industrial Drive.

Callers stated the pedestrian was unresponsive and lying in the road. The driver of the vehicle fled before authorities arrived, Capt. Nicholas Lechman said in a news release.

Bethlehem EMS transported the victim to a nearby hospital. As of Friday morning, the pedestrian remained hospitalized with what appeared to be serious but non-life-threatening injuries, Lechman said.

Approximately one hour after the incident, officers located the suspected vehicle involved in the crash in the 2900 block of Avon Road and identified its driver. However, no arrests have been made, the release said.

The Bethlehem Police Department’s Major Accident Reconstruction Unit is investigating, and authorities are urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has relevant information to come forward.

Witnesses can contact Bethlehem Police at 610-865-7000 or email BethlehemPolice@bethlehem-pa.gov.

Tips also can be submitted anonymously via the department’s tip line at 610-691-6660.
