Police: Driver killed, passenger injured in crash on Pembroke Road in Bethlehem

Police said rain was reported at the time of a fatal crash on Pembroke Road in Bethlehem, and wet road conditions may have been a factor. The driver was identified as Johny M. Roustic.

BETHLEHEM, Pa. — City police are seeking information on a fatal crash on Pembroke Road Wednesday evening.

Police said they responded around 8 p.m. to the single-vehicle accident near the intersection of Pembroke Road and East Washington Avenue, where they found a vehicle into a tree.

The driver, 51-year-old Johny M. Roustic of East Allen Township, was transported to St. Luke’s University Hospital and later died from his injuries, according to the Lehigh County Coroner’s Office.

Police said a passenger in the vehicle, a 29-year-old male, suffered minor injuries.

Witnesses told police the vehicle was traveling eastbound on Pembroke Road when the driver appeared to lose control. The car went off the road and into the tree.

Police said rain was reported at the time of the crash and wet road conditions may have been a factor.
