HANOVER TOWNSHIP, Lehigh County, Pa. — The west side of Lehigh Valley International Airport's main terminal was closed for almost two hours Monday as law enforcement investigated a suspicious package.

Lehigh Northampton Airport Authority spokesman Colin Riccobon said airport operations were unaffected and flights still were taking off around 12:45 p.m.

Normal operations resumed just before 2 p.m., according to airport officials.

Riccobon said passengers continued to be processed through TSA security checkpoints.

He said the ongoing investigation involved airport police and "mutual aid partners" from surrounding areas.
