ALLENTOWN, Pa. — Most of Lehigh County Court hearings Thursday have been postponed as county officials work to restore power following a small electrical fire.

Protection from Abuse hearings will take place in room 1B of the Historic Lehigh County Courthouse, according to a county news release. All other hearings will be rescheduled.

Allentown firefighters were dispatched to the Lehigh County Courthouse at 11:37 p.m. Tuesday. Allentown Fire Capt. John Christopher said it was a small electrical fire, but it affected the building's alarm and suppression system.

County Executive Phil Armstrong said the main courthouse was operating on generator power around 8:30 a.m. Wednesday but officials were still dealing with the aftermath.
